We booked an afternoon tour with extended family – the five of us joined up with Pattie & George… and within minutes they had us right with the herd! They take the time to explain about the bands within the herd, the struggles the herd has and the environment they are in… It was educational and just so fun! To be amongst the wild horses in an area where there are no buildings and power lines you can almost feel like you are in the Wild West. I highly recommend you take some time for this rare opportunity.

Pattie and George have some pretty awesome photo tours that bring the photographer in contact with wildlife and nature. Bears, horses, and all sorts of adventure in Namibia, Africa at reasonable prices with reasonable accommodations and lots of camaraderie with other photographers are part of each tour I have experienced.  Both have unique talents that they bring to their participants including technical photographic and editing skills.  The best part of each of these trips is the learning and sharing before, after, and during the trips. Treat yourself to one of their tours and have some fun learning, exchanging, and living the discovery of life outside of home.

Three of us ladies did this photography tour in January and we saw horses each day we were out with George and Pattie.  These two guides were amazing not only with their knowledge of the horses but their knowledge of the land.  All three of us got some of the best images of the horses and their foals, plus gorgeous sunrise and sunset landscapes!   Each day brought new and exciting adventures with GP Walsh Photography and Photo Tours.  We will be baack!

Pattie and George are fantastic! The day I spent with them was so fun, informative, and full of horses. They knew just where to be and I swear Patty has magic timing when it comes to stallions rearing. We were always right there in the right place. It was great day of photography and I look forward to spending more time with them in the future.

Pattie and George are remarkable.
They are extremely knowledgeable photographers and know how to be in the right place at the right time. That in and of itself is quite a challenge. During our three day workshop I found it to be exhilarating as we saw more horses than I could have imagined ,with beautiful lighting and extraordinary Arizona landscapes. We photographed mystical creatures emerging from the dust of Arizona and gorgeous horses snorkeling for their delicacy of eel grass. Apparently these are the only horses that do snorkel. What an unusual photo that became.
We also saw Flagstaff and Sedona in the autumn of the year. I enjoyed the Walsh’s camera expertise and their knowledge of what shots to anticipate (and also their  choice of decadent food for snacking). In three days I was able to capture more than 2000 photographs of the horses of my dreams.

Pattie and George are a great team. Their knowledge and love for wildlife is fantastic and contagious. I went out with them a couple of times and will probably go again. If anyone wants a chance at finding and photographing the wild horses, these guys are great and I highly recommend them!

I have had the pleasure of attending photo workshops provided by Pattie and George Walsh on several occasions. The photo workshops were very well planned and exceeded my expectations on every level. The workshops were incredible George and Pattie are so informed beforehand on the accommodations the photo opportunities and scheduling of the photos so no photo opportunity will be missed. For example they will make sure that you are in the right place at the right time. Whether it is a sunrise, sunset or even shooting the Milky Way as we did in Namibia, Africa. I wholeheartedly recommend booking them on your next trip whether you are an amateur photographer as myself a professional or anyone in between. They will go over and above to provide a memorable experience. They will advise you on what you need to bring regarding clothing, lenses and a working knowledge of your camera. They have small groups so that they can provide some minimal assistance during the photo shoot. They are very accommodating and your enjoyment of the experience is their goal . I have traveled with them to Africa, Alaska (3 times) , Colorado and soon in Arizona. They will treat you right and you will enjoy every minute with them.

If you are looking for an awesome opportunity to get wild horses in action, you should contact Pattie and George Walsh. They are expert tour guides who made our experience photographing the wild horses of the Salt River a memorable experience. Photographing wild horses was something I’ve wanted to do for years. It was easy spending time with this wonderful couple. Their expertise and knowledge of the terrain and the behavior of the horses made it truly exciting. We’ve made plans for their Alaska trip in August 2020, and we know we’ll have a great time. Thank you, Pattie and George!
