Sequoia Bear - gpwalsh

Sequoia National Park

August & September

A Land of Giants. This dramatic landscape testifies to nature’s size, beauty, and diversity. Huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns, and the world’s largest trees.

Although most of the visitors in Sequoia are there for the scenery and giant trees, which we will see as well, we are there for the unique black bears.

Sequoia is home to some the most interesting cinnamon colored black bears. Other wildlife includes Mule Deer, Marmots, and various birds. There are more ellusive animals like fox, weasels, owls, and fishers that we will always keep an eye out for.

We will begin our journey by meeting the afternoon of July 24th. Everyone will have some time to get situated in their rooms and we will discuss the schedule for the remainder of our stay over dinner.

The following morning we will have breakfast and then the adventure begins.

We will provide the transportation into and throughout the park. While some bear viewing will be done right from the road there are several trails that we will frequent throughout the tour.
